Cost of dialysis

I really sympathize with those patients who need to undergo haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. It cost RM 2000-RM2500 per month to get this kind of treatment. The cost of dialysis per month is more than the income for a lot of low-middle income class people. Without any welfare support, not many people will be able to pay so much per month to receive treatment for End Stage Renal Failure (ESRF).

I have seen patient as young as 8 year-old in the nephro ward receiving CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis). We should take care of our health, most of the patient with Renal failure was first diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. Although you may think that you are still young but it is better to prevent rather than being late.
